Known as Little Russian because of its use of Ukrainian folksongs. In Czarist times, Ukraine was referred to as "Little Russia." The term began to gain a derogatory sense only after Tchaikovsky's death, and now might be considered offensive to Ukrainians. Tbn & tuba in mvts 1 & 4 only; perc in mvt 4 only.
